Wanting to improve your love life? Avocados could be the answer to get you "in the mood". The Aztecs love them, the word translates to, ahem, testicles, due to the fruit's physical form.
Avocados may very well have an effect on internal secretion levels, brain chemistry, energy, intensifying arousal, sexual drive and performance. Having the energy and the drive for intimacy is important and avocados could provide that necessary boost.
While there aren't exhaustive studies proving the aphrodisiac properties of avocados, they are made of unsaturated fats and low in saturated fat. They're loaded with minerals, monounsaturated fats (the healthy kind) that defend and protect the heart.
Avocados are also loaded with Vitamin E. This vitamin is an important antioxidant that is known to widen blood vessels. When thinking about ways to eat avocado, please remember that Vitamin E is very sensitive to heat and oxygen, so it is better to consume avocados in their raw state. Try to avoid deep-frying avocado as heat will greatly decrease their nutritional value.
So regardless eat them raw, smashed on toast, in salads, dips and smoothies. Guacamole is best served with tortilla chips but anything is possible with a bit of imagination and baby wipes!
